  • Good Life Music Group’s, Issa (@IssaIam) who has been called a young vet in the industry just released an eye opening visual to his latest record “Whips and Chains”, which he recorded over a year ago which was never released. When asked why Issa had not released it his response was “I didn’t know if my fans were ready for it. Over the years, I’ve released several projects and on each one I put at least one song that expresses who I am and where I am headed with my music. I would like to move people in a new direction to open their minds. I want to advance my people. We shot the video few months back and my team allowed me to have creative control and I appreciate that”.

“Whips and Chains” was directed by none other than B pace and produced by Good Life Music Group’s very own T Black the Hitmaker. Issa also stated that “there are a lot of messages in the video that we purposely put there, but the craziest situation surrounding this video is that there are other messages that I had no idea were placed in there that God inserted. The message is we are no longer physical slaves, but yet some of us remain in mentally enslaved. WE ARE NOT SLAVES. I hope everyone enjoys it, learns from it and gets prepared for where I’m taking my generation.”

In the clip for the Philly MC’s latest banger, he drops words of wisdom for the younger generation to abide by, and he also provides a visual that was inspired by one of Ice Cube’s most iconic music videos.

About a month and a half after unveiling the video for “That White” featuring fellow Philadelphia rapper Freeway, Miz MAF returns with his latest banger, “Act Right.” Throughout the hypnotic track, produced by Mello Dee Beats, Double M uses his energetic pinpoint flow to masterfully emphasize the message of coming correct in the streets.

The MC accomplishes that with sharp, direct, and fairly-repetitive lines that’ll stay on the brain for days, like with the rhyme, “When you out there doin’ your thing, you better make sure you’re true to the game / ‘Cause when you’re out there fuckin’ the game up, the game gonna fuck up your name.”

As a product, and veteran, of the streets, Miz MAF feels its his responsibility to pass along these gems of knowledge.

“It’s a play on conscience, [like] just act right when you out here living life,” he says. “I took some of my everyday real life scenarios and played ’em out in [an] open-ended form, like if people [were] me or were in these situations, what would you do? You better act right!”

He continues, “I’m from the streets, so I had to inspire the people the only way I knew how — through what I’ve been through in the streets.”

In the video above, Miz MAF is in the streets of Philadelphia, and later a recording studio, performing the song, all while visually telling a story of young gangsters making fraudulent and deceptive deals, which later comes back to haunt them.

Also, there is a man standing outside a convenience store holding cardboard signs which read “WILL RAP FOR LIKES,” thus adding a clever and sly incorporation of Facebook, and perhaps on a deeper level, real life, acceptance.

Truth be told, the idea for the treatment was sparked by a trio of 90s west coast hip-hop artists.

“The actual visual concept came from Ice Cube’s video ‘True To The Game,’ in which all day he [was] going around trunking people who [were] being frauds and not true,” Miz MAF explains. “Also, I mixed in a lil’ bit of Dr. Dre and Snoop’s video for “Dre Day,” [as] both [their video and Ice Cube’s] had an ‘exposing the fake’ feel to it, which is what my song calls for.”

Producer Deezle Breaks Silence On $20 Million Lil Wayne Lawsuit

Producer Darius “Deezle” Harrison has issued a statement regarding a $20 million dollar lawsuit filed against superstar rapper Lil Wayne, over unpaid royalties.

Harrison filed the $20 million dollar lawsuit in March of 2011, claiming Lil Wayne, Young Money Records and Cash Money Records owes him unpaid royalties for producing the hit track “Lollipop” from Tha Carter III.

“After consultation with my team I have decided to make a statement as it relates to the litigation pending against Cash Money and Young Money,” Deezle said in a statement. “At this time I am owed a sufficient amount of money and will protect the rights afforded me by the State of New York. My team is of the opinion that the matter will be resolved in a timely fashion.”

Deezle’s lawsuit claims Lil Wayne’s album Tha Carter III, which produced the Grammy Award winning single “Lollipop,” has sold over six million copies, generating over $70 million dollars in income.

The producer also filed a $2.5 million dollar lawsuit over unpaid royalties against Lil Wayne over the hit single “Mrs. Officer,” also taken from Tha Carter III.

Deezle, who has won three Grammy Awards, also separated himself from legal Rasheed “Ralo Wonder” Harrison, a former associate who has also levied claims against Young Money and Cash Money Records.

“Ralo Wonder” issued a statement in regards to the lawsuit, which suggested that Deezle would continue to sue other record labels for royalties as well.

“All you labels and music companies that owe royalties watch out because there’s a monster mixed with a tango bobcat on the loose!” Ralo Wonder said in a statement shortly after Deezle filed the lawsuit in March.

Deezle distanced himself from Ralo Wonder and his “bobcat” statement.

“Mr. Harrison was terminated from a trial basis management agreement for various indiscretions which include forgery, misrepresentation, and lack of knowledge of the music industry,” Deezle said. “At this vital moment in my career it is imperative to have seasoned, educated individuals assisting me in my ventures.”
